A database is added with a wizard of three steps:
- Choose "Home".
- Choose the plus button next to "Databases in your drive". The "Add a database" window opens.
- Choose where the database is, then choose "Next":
- "In Invantive Cloud": a database of the account on Invantive Cloud, reached from every computer that is signed in. The window asks to sign in first when needed. See [[Invantive Drive/Procedures/Sign In|Sign In]].
- "On this computer": a database that the other Invantive products on this computer use, such as Invantive Query Tool. It is read from the settings files in the user profile and needs no sign-in.

- Choose the database from the list, then choose "Next". The box "Filter on name" narrows the list and the refresh button reads the list again. A database that is not in the list yet is made in Invantive Cloud: choose "Manage databases in Invantive Cloud", which opens in the browser, and refresh the list afterwards.

- Check the connections of the database. Only the connections whose platform offers documents appear in the drive.

- Choose "Add to drive". The drive restarts to show the new folder.
- "Home" lists the database with the text "Opening..." until the drive has opened it. Then it shows the connections and the partitions of the database.
The window shows a message in the following situations:
- There are no databases on Invantive Credentials Server yet: make one in Invantive Cloud and refresh the list.
- All databases are in the drive already.
- None of the platforms of the chosen database offers documents, so it would show nothing in the drive.
## Demo Database
The demo database holds sample documents and large files of the Dummy driver of Invantive UniversalSQL. It needs no account and is kept in memory, so it starts afresh with the drive. It is added as follows:
- Choose "Settings".
- Expand "Advanced settings".
- Choose "Add demo database".
The folder is named "Demo files".
