The subject "Cash Flow Projections" registers the cash flow projections of a project per cost category. The projections are used to calculate the net present value of the project. The calculation is done in two steps: - Calculating: determines the size of each flow, the start and end dates and the distribution method. - Dividing: allocates the cash flow to the days of the calendar. The two steps make it possible to adjust the calculated cash flows manually. The entry fields are: - "Project": The project to which the projection belongs. - "Start of Projection": The starting date of the cash flow projection. - "Cash Flow Method": The way cash flows are allocated to a period. - "Include Explanation in Flows": If checked, the explanation is included in the calculation of the cash flow. - "Include Explanation in Daily Flows": If checked, the explanation is included in the calculation of the daily cash flows. - "Explanation": An informative explanation, such as the reason why the "Cash Flow Method" was chosen. - "Net Present Value": The group of fields that control the calculation of the net present value. - "NPV Rate (%)": The percentage used to calculate the present value (net value) of projected cash flows. - "NPV Rate Settled Posts (%)": The percentage used to calculate the present value of amounts that are already paid or received. - "Include interest in NPV": If checked, the interest paid on loans is included in the NPV calculation. - "Calculate": The group of fields that start the calculation. - "Recalculate": If checked, the cash flow is recalculated in the future. - "Distribute Cash Flow": If checked, the cash flow is allocated to the period that starts with "Cash Flow Date" and ends with "Cash Flow End Date". - "Both Calculate and Distribute": If checked, the cash flow is recalculated and distributed in the future. - "Cash Flows": The cash flows of the projection. - "Cash Flow Date": The date on which the cash flow starts. - "Cash Flow End Date": The date on which the cash flow ends. - "Invoice Flow Date": The date on which the invoice flow begins. - "Invoice Flow End Date": The date on which the invoice flow ends. - "Original Difference between Cash Flows (days)": The initial difference in days between the invoice and the expected cash flow. - "Distribution Method": The method used to distribute the cash flow over the period. - "Cost Type": The cost category on which the cash flow is registered. - "Contract": The contract identifier to which the cash flow relates. - "Type": The cause of the cash flow, for example a contract, an invoice line or a budget. - "Deviating Amount": A deviating amount. The NPV calculation uses this amount instead of the "Calculated Amount". - "Explanation Deviating Cash Flow": An optional explanation of the deviating cash flow. - "Settled": If checked, the cash flow has already taken place as a receipt or a payment. - "Cash Flow Daily Details": The daily details of a cash flow. - "Cash Flow Date": The date on which the cash flow starts. - "Amount": The cash flow amount from which the daily cash flow is derived. - "Amount of Cash Flow Detail": The amount of the cash flow detail per day or per period. - "Rounding": The amount that is added to the daily cash flow to compensate for rounding errors. - "Explanation": An informative explanation of the daily cash flow amount. The other fields are: - "Project": The project to which the projection belongs. - "Start of Projection": The starting date of the cash flow projection. - "Net Present Value": The group of fields with the results of the net present value calculation. - "Net Present Value": The net present value, calculated from the distributed cash flow and the interest on the cash flows, including the contracts that are already settled. - "Net Present Value Excluding Settled Posts": The net present value, calculated from the distributed cash flow and the interest on the cash flows, excluding the contracts that are already settled. - "Total Settled Posts": The total amount of the contracts that are settled up to now. - "Values at Last Calculation": The group of fields with the values at the last calculation. - "Budget": The project budget. - "Deviation": The difference between the project budget and the project prognosis. - "Prognosis": The project prognosis. - "Costs": The costs of the project. - "Revenues": The revenues of the project. - "Project Result": The revenues minus the costs. - "Taken Result": The amount that is already booked as loss or profit at this moment. - "Software Version used in last Calculation": The software version that was used for the last calculation of the cash flow amount or its distribution. After the installation of a new software version, the comparison with old cash flow amounts and distributions can be unreliable. - "Calculate": The group of fields with the dates of the last calculation and distribution. - "Date of last Recalculation": The date on which the last recalculation took place. - "Date Last Distribution": The date on which the last distribution took place. - "Cash Flows": The cash flows of the projection. - "Calculated Amount": The cash flow amount. The cash flows per date give an overview of the historical and projected cash flows. Each cash flow is split into cash flow details. The cash flow details are shown in the bottom part of the subject. Each cash flow has an explanation of the calculation. For example, a cost budget of EUR 615,424 was expected. In the meantime EUR 610,000 is invoiced and paid. According to the expected maturity of the budget, the remaining budget of EUR 5,424 is used between 1 August 2009 and 1 June 2012.
