An expectation is a cost that is still to arrive and that the current prognosis does not include. The subject "Expectations" registers and changes expectations. An expectation can be compared with the prognosis. It can also be used to create the additional revenues that are necessary when there is a gap, regardless of orders already placed or invoices already received. Internally, every expectation is converted to a [[Invantive Estate/Subjects/Budget Control/Latest Estimates|Latest Estimation]]. An expectation is normally registered when a claim, an unexpected setback or a funding without a legal agreement is expected, for instance funding from governments. The entry fields are: - "Project": The project to which the expectation belongs. - "Cost Type": The cost category on which the expectation is registered. Only cost categories of the master roll up of type "Costs" can be chosen. - "Organization": The organisation that causes the cost as a supplier. - "Contract": The contract for this category of costs and the possibly related invoices. Two expectations cannot share the same contract on one budget. - "Realization": The actual costs to date. - "Expectation": The size of the expectation. - "Observation Date": The date on which the expectation is determined. - "Explanation": An informative explanation, such as the reason for the expected budget excess. - "Documents": The linked documents, see Linking Documents. - "Expected Maturity": The date on which the cash flow for this expectation is expected to begin. - "Expected Maturity End": The date on which the cash flow for this expectation is expected to end. The maturity date is only relevant if the cash flow projection method needs it. - "Distribution Method": The method used to distribute the cash flow of the expectation over time, based on the expected maturity and the expected maturity end date.
