A cell of the results which holds a picture shows a thumbnail of it, and a cell which holds a long text shows the start of the text and the whole text in a tool tip. Both are available from release 28.0. ![[20261008-qtm-results-pictures.png]] ## Pictures in a Column With Binary Values A column of a binary type, which holds documents or images, shows a thumbnail in every cell whose value is a picture. The thumbnail is 64 pixels high, with the width which keeps its proportions. The grid has one column for the field, so the column list, the copy, the export and the layout all see one column. The grid recognises the following pictures: - PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP and WebP; - the same pictures compressed with gzip, written as text in base64, or both. A value which holds anything else shows the text `(BLOB)`. That is also the case for a picture which is damaged, for example because the end of the file is missing, for a value of one byte, and for a value which only looks like a picture at its start. "Save selected cell contents as file" in the cell menu writes the bytes of the value to a file whatever the cell shows, so the original picture or document is reached from the grid; see [[Invantive Query Tool Multi-Platform/Selecting and Copying|Selecting and Copying]]. The grid does not show the first page of a PDF or an office document. Such a value is shown as `(BLOB)`. ## Long Texts A text which is longer than its column ends in an ellipsis. The whole text, up to 4,000 characters, is shown in a tool tip when the pointer rests on the cell. A cell which fits has no tool tip. A value with line breaks is shown on several lines, to a limit, and ends in an ellipsis when it has more. The row is made as high as the lines which are shown. The tool tip shows the value with all its lines. The picture above shows a picture of 20 by 20 pixels, a compressed picture of 120 by 96 pixels, a picture which is damaged and a text in a column of binary values, next to a column with a value of five lines. The pictures were made for the test and hold no data. ## The Other Appearance In the dark appearance of the product the rows alternate in colour, as in the Windows product. The check box of a yes or no value is as readable as the text of a cell.
