A dataset loads rows into the business objects of an application from data held as text. It consists of three parts: - The dataset itself, with a code, a description and the default expressions that turn a text into a date or a number. - The dataset mappings, which say for each business object which position in a row of the dataset goes into which column, with an optional expression to convert the text into the right data type. - The dataset rows, which hold the data in numbered payload columns. Each row has a phase and a sequence number, which order the loading so that a row is loaded after the rows it refers to. Because the rows are loaded through the business objects, every rule of the application applies to them.
