The tree on the left of the main window holds four groups: - "Applications": the applications of the repository and their model - tables, business objects, modules, codes, languages and more. - "Security": the users, roles and functions, and the grants between them. - "Setup": the languages, settings and other options of the installation. - "Administration": what is needed to run and monitor the installation. When Invantive Studio starts, the first group is selected and opened. ## Selecting a Node Selecting a node shows its content in the middle pane and its properties in the right pane. What the middle pane shows depends on the node: - An application shows its [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Main Window/Application Status|status]]. - A table or business object shows a [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Main Window/Data Preview|preview of its data]]. - A list, such as the tables of an application, shows its rows. The context menu of a node offers the commands for that row, such as "Open", "Edit", "Copy", "Refresh" and [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Audit|Audit]], and the commands of that kind of row, such as [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Selective Copy|Selective Copy...]] on an application. "Refresh" reloads the nodes beneath the node. ## Ticking Nodes Every node has a check box. Ticking nodes of the same kind lists them in the middle pane as [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Main Window/Selected Objects|selected objects]], and the right pane then compares their properties. Ticked objects are also what [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Contents|Compare Contents]] and [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Properties|Compare Properties]] work on. Nodes of different kinds cannot be ticked together.
