A column is added to a table as follows: - Open the table in the tree and select its folder "Columns". - Choose [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Add|"Add"]]. - In the property pane, enter the "Name" of the column, its "Data Type", its "Data Length" or "Data Precision" and "Data Scale", and whether it is "Nullable". - Enter the labels, the "Definition" and the "Display Control Name", which decides how screens show the value; see [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Reference/Display Controls|Display Controls]]. - For a column added to a table that already holds rows, enter in "Conversion" the value the existing rows get, such as `coalesce(:orig, sysdate)`. - Choose [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Save|"Save"]]. A column that refers to another table is named after the alias of that table followed by `_id`, such as `ord_id`; see [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Procedures/Relate Two Tables|Relate Two Tables]]. The column reaches the database at the next [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Procedures/Synchronise the Database with the Model|synchronisation]].
