An application carries the settings that the generation of its business layer follows. They are kept on the row of the application, under "Applications". This topic groups them by purpose; the full list of fields is in [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Applications/Applications|Applications]]. ## Identity These settings identify the application: - "Code": the unique code of the application, such as `bubs/trunk`. - "Prefix": the prefix of every database object of the application, such as `bubs`. - "Name", "Language Code", "Copyright", "Documentation". - "Microsoft .NET Namespace": the namespace of the classes generated for Microsoft .NET. - "Deployed": whether the application has been installed in the schema that holds the repository. ## Names of the Standard Columns These settings name the standard columns of every table: - "Column Identity", "Column Date Created", "Column Created By", "Column Created In", "Column Date Last Updated", "Column Updated By", "Column Updated In", "Column Transaction Created", "Column Transaction Updated", "Column Session Created", "Column Session Updated": the names of the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Standard Columns|standard columns]]. - "Column Original System Reference", "Column Original System Group", "Column Date Interface Created", "Column Date Interface Last Updated": the names of the interface columns. - "Free Text Column Prefix", "Number of Free Columns" and "Column Column Type": the free columns. - "Partition": the name of the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Partition|partition]] column. ## Names of the History Columns These settings name the columns of the history tables: - "Column History Event", "Column History Date Starts", "Column History Date Ends" and "Column History Active When Filled": the names of the columns of the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/History|history]] tables. ## Business Objects These settings shape the business objects: - "Include Natural Key Column", "Column Natural Key", "Natural Key Prefix", "Natural Key Postfix" and "Natural Key Separator": whether and how a business object gets one column holding its whole natural key. - "Postfix Label Column" and "Column for Icon": the label and icon columns of a business object. - "Include Call Additional Business Rules Value" and "Additional Business Rule Procedure Prefix": whether the business layer calls an additional procedure per business object. ## Flags and Codes These settings govern flag columns and code domains: - "Postfix for Flag Field", 'Flag Field Value for "yes"' and 'Flag Field Value for "no"': the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Flag Column|flag columns]]. - "Postfix for Code Field", "Template for LOV View Name" and "Code View Template": the columns of a [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Code Domain|code domain]] and their list-of-values views. - "Table Name for Codes", "Table Name for Code Values" and "Table Name Code Cache": the tables that hold the code domains. ## Session and Audit These settings connect the business layer with the session and the audit trail: - "Expression Set Session Info", "Expression Unset Session Info", "Expression Restricted Logon", "Expression Session User Identity": how the business layer reads and sets the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Session|session]]. - "Expression Point in Time", "Expression Set Point in Time" and "Expression Effective Date": the moment of the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Point in Time|point-in-time views]] and the moment from which a change is recorded in the history. - "Expression Get Last Identity": how a product reads the identity of a row it has just inserted. - "Expression Translate Keys" and "Expression Get All Translations": the translation of [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Resource Code|resource codes]]. - "Table with Interactions", "Table with Transactions", "Expression Register Interaction" and "Procedure to Log Attribute Rule Execution": the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Audit Trail|audit trail]]. The settings "Standard Where Clause" and "Standard Select Clause" are not applied by the generation; a business object takes its extra conditions from its own "Additional Where Clause". The setting "ANSI Joins" is not used either: release 27.0 generates the outer joins in Oracle `(+)` style and release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 in ANSI style, whatever its value. The three settings will be removed.
