Release 27.0 of Invantive Studio has these known limitations. They are listed so that an unexpected result can be recognised; each is expected to be corrected in a later release.
## Commands
Some commands do not yet do what their name says:
- [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Auto Complete|Auto Complete]] does not pass the selected application, so it has no effect. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Translate JasperReports|Translate JasperReports]] registers new resource codes but does not replace the texts in the reports.
- [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Keychain|Keychain]] reports that its window is not yet available, and [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Online Assistance|Online Assistance]] that online assistance is not supported.
- The commands listed in [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Commands Not Yet Available|Commands Not Yet Available]] only report that they are not implemented.
- For a user without the right, [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Auto Complete|Auto Complete]] does nothing and shows no message, [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Applications|Compare Applications]] opens all the same, and [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Translate JasperReports|Translate JasperReports]] leaves an empty window open after reporting the missing right. [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Merge Applications|Merge Applications]] and [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Apply a Patch|Apply Patch]] report "You are not authorized to open this form.". Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 make every command which checks a right report which function is missing.
- [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Apply a Patch|Apply Patch]] shows the internal name `Invantive.Producer.Data.ItgenApplicationsVEntity` in its field "Application" instead of the application.
- "Export" in the list of glossaries does not write a file; [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Export a Glossary|Export]] on the context menu of the glossary in the tree does. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- The key combination `Ctrl+Alt+E,X` of [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/XML Export|XML]] exports also for a user without the right to export to XML. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- A repository installed with release 27.0 has no function `itgen_translation_workbench`, so the right to open the [[Invantive Studio/Translation Workbench|Translation Workbench]] cannot be granted to a role and only a system user opens it. A repository installed with release 28.0 or its BETA release 27.1 has the function and grants it to the roles `Example-Developer` and `Example-Development Manager`; a repository installed earlier keeps the limitation until the function is added to it.
## Keyboard
Several key combinations do not work as their tooltips say:
- Tooltips name key combinations that are not bound, such as `Ctrl+Alt+S` for "Save", those starting with `Ctrl+Alt+V` for version control and those of the entries under "Help". The button with the disk on the quick access toolbar and the help button at the right of the tab names do nothing. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this, with `Ctrl+S` for "Save"; [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Keyboard Shortcuts|Keyboard Shortcuts]] lists them.
- `Ctrl+F` reports that searching is not implemented, while the box "Search" works. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 place the cursor in the box.
- The tooltip of "Cut" names `Ctrl+I,X`; the key combination is `Ctrl+X`. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- On a keyboard layout with AltGr, such as United States-International, a character typed with AltGr and `E`, `P` or `D` - `é`, `ö` or `ð` - does not appear in a field of the main window, since `Ctrl+Alt+E`, `Ctrl+Alt+P` and `Ctrl+Alt+D` start a key combination of the ribbon. A dead key, such as `'` followed by `e`, does type the character.
- `Ctrl+,`, `F12` and `Ctrl+Shift+D` work also for a user without the right to [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Go to Definition|Go to Definition]], [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Open in New|Open in New]] or [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Disconnect|Disconnect]]. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- Without the right, `Ctrl+O` and `Ctrl+Shift+R` report the missing right and then open an empty window of [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Trace|Trace]] or [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Preferences|Preferences]]. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- Without the right to connect, `Ctrl+Shift+C` and "Connect" first ask about unsaved changes and only then report the missing right. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- In the tree, `F5` does nothing, while typing `t` reads the selected node again and typing `{` goes to its definition. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- `Escape` does nothing in the main window: it does not reach the field that has the focus, so an edit of a property is not cancelled with it. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 let the field cancel the edit.
- The shortcuts named in the tooltips of the [[Invantive Studio/Translation Workbench|Translation Workbench]], such as `Ctrl+Enter` and `Ctrl+Shift+Q`, are not bound; its buttons work. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
## Tree and Windows
The tree and some windows behave differently from what might be expected:
- "Refresh" on an application node, and a window opened with [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Open in New|Open in New]], list the folders of the application in a different order and leave out "Glossaries".
- [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Go to Definition|Go to Definition]] without a selected node, for instance after disconnecting, fails with `itgenclr000`. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 report "Select a node in the tree before using Go to Definition." instead.
- Only a click or an arrow key shows a node in the middle and right panes. A node selected in another way - with `Home`, `End`, `Page Up` or `Page Down`, by typing its first letters, by a screen reader or other automation, or because its parent was collapsed - is selected in the tree while the panes keep showing the previous node. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- Closing a [[Invantive Studio/Role Function Matrix|matrix]] with unsaved changes discards them without asking. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- In a [[Invantive Studio/Role Function Matrix|matrix]], a cell which is withdrawn, saved, granted again and saved in the same window shows as granted, but the grant is not created again. Opening the matrix again shows the cell as not granted, after which granting and saving it works. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- The [[Invantive Studio/User Role Matrix|User Role Matrix]] shows the code `itgen_privilege_not_granted` where it should read "Not Granted". Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- The [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Main Window/Data Preview|data preview]] of a table or business object fails with `itgenefd012` when the business object has a column that holds no text, such as a number or a date, which holds for nearly every table. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Audit|Audit]] shows only the creation and the last change of a row; earlier versions are reached with [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/History|History]].
- [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Commands/Audit|Audit]] opened from the tree or from the toolbar of the properties shows the wrong rights under "Privileges". Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- The ribbon group "Version Control" and some messages are always shown in English.
- A change of the language in [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Preferences|Preferences]] leaves the labels of the ribbon in the previous language. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- A second change of the language in [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/Preferences|Preferences]] without restarting shows `itgensdo034` "To successfully use Invantive Studio, you must have been granted privileges on at least one element" and leaves the tree empty; restarting Invantive Studio restores it. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- The list of reporting objects carries the title "Business Objects" in its status strip.
- [[Invantive Studio/Ribbon/About|About]] cuts off the copyright line and runs the link to the product forums into its label.
- [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Setup/Languages|Languages]] under "Setup" shows resource codes such as `{res:itgen_afar}` instead of the names of the languages, in the tree and in the list.
- The icons of [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Setup/Module Languages|module languages]] and of [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Applications/Modules|modules]] show as a broken image. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
- In [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Security/Functions|Functions]], the translated description of many functions, among them those of Invantive Composition, shows the code of the function.
- The help text below the properties gives for some codes, such as "Table Code" and "Module Code", an example about the city of Amsterdam, and for some fields "Example: ?".
- The details of a [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Applications/Tables|table]] label the right to insert "Insert" rather than "Grant Insert".
- The details of the [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Setup/Settings|settings]] do not show "Register Interactions", "Register Transactions", "Logon Message", "Language Code" and "Documentation", so whether interactions and transactions are registered cannot be seen or changed there. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 correct this.
## Application Settings
Three settings of an application have no effect: "Standard Where Clause" and "Standard Select Clause" are not applied by the generation, and "ANSI Joins" is ignored, so the business objects are always generated with Oracle `(+)` joins. A business object takes its extra conditions from its own "Additional Where Clause"; see [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Reference/Application Settings|Application Settings]]. Release 28.0 and its BETA release 27.1 generate ANSI joins for every application; the three settings have no effect there either and will be removed.
