Invantive Studio shows these messages in common situations. The meaning and the way forward of each:
- "Insert is not allowed." or "Update is not allowed.": the user lacks the right to change this kind of row, or the folder does not take new rows. See [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Function Rights|Function Rights]].
- "You can not delete a list.": "Delete" was chosen on a folder; select a row instead.
- "Are you sure you want to delete this item?": confirmation before a row is deleted.
- "There are unsaved changes. Do you want to save them?": the main window is being closed while rows have not been saved.
- "To show common properties all selected objects must be of the same type. Choose only objects of the same type!": nodes of different kinds were ticked in the tree.
- "Can not navigate from node '...'.": "Go to Definition" was chosen on a node that does not refer to another row.
- "Preview of data not available.": the data preview of a table or business object could not be read, for instance because the business object is not generated yet.
- "This application runs only on the database platform 'Oracle RDBMS'. Please choose a different database platform.": the log-on was made to a database on another platform.
- "You are not authorized to use 'Invantive Studio'.": the licence does not include Invantive Studio; see [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Reference/Rights to Use Invantive Studio|Rights to Use Invantive Studio]].

- "No role of the user grants the function '...'." (`itgenube436`): a command was chosen, by its button, its key combination or a context menu, whose function the user is not granted. The message names the function and asks to have it granted to one of the roles of the user; see [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/Function Rights|Function Rights]].
- "The licence does not include the function '...'." (`itgenube437`): the command is not part of the licence. Invantive Support can extend the licence.
- "The licence does not allow the function '...' before logging on." (`itgenube438`): the command needs a log-on first.
- "Select two or more objects of the same type.": "Compare" was chosen without ticking objects in the tree.
- "Future versions can not be compared.": a moment in the future was chosen in [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Applications|Compare Applications]].
- "No patch target was selected." or "No patch content was entered.": the window [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Apply a Patch|Apply Patch]] misses its application or its patch.
