"Compare Applications" shows the differences between two applications of the repository, each as it was at a moment of choice. Because the repository keeps its [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Concepts/History|history]], an application can be compared with itself at an earlier moment, for instance to see what changed since a release. The command is the main part of the split button "Compare Applications" under "Application" and "Version Control", and is also in its drop-down list. It needs the right to compare applications; without it, the command reports the missing right. Up to and including release 27.0 the window opens without that right as well. The comparison is made as follows: - Choose "Compare Applications". The window "Select Applications" opens. - Under "Origin" choose the application and the moment of the first version in "Applications" and "Time". - Under "Result" choose the application and the moment of the second version. - Choose "Continue processing". A progress window counts the objects compared; then the window "Compare Contents" shows the differences, as described in [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Contents|Compare Contents]]. The window refuses a comparison when an application is missing, when a moment lies in the future, or when an application did not exist at the moment chosen.
