A patch records the differences between two versions of an application, or of an object in it, so that the same changes can be applied elsewhere. A patch is created from a comparison: - Compare the two versions with [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Applications|Compare Applications]] or [[Invantive Studio/Repository/Version Control/Compare Contents|Compare Contents]]. - Choose "Create Patch" on the tab "Home" of the window "Compare Contents". The comparison window closes and the window "Comment on Patch" opens. - Describe the patch under "Comment" and choose "Continue processing". The window "Display Patch Contents" opens with the patch. - Choose "Save" to store the patch as a file ending in `.patch`, or "Copy to Clipboard" to paste it elsewhere.
