"Translate JasperReports" in the drop-down list of "Tools" on the tab "Application" opens a window that prepares JasperReports reports for translation: it finds the literal texts in the reports and proposes the resource codes that already hold the same text. It needs the right to translate JasperReports reports; without it, the command reports the missing right. Up to and including release 27.0 an empty window stays open after that report. The window is used as follows: - Choose the "Source Directory" holding the reports, files ending in `.jrxml`, and the "Target Directory" for the result. - Choose the "Source Application Language" whose translations serve as proposals. - Choose "Analyse". The grid lists every text found once, with the number of proposals and a proposed resource code under "Replacement". - Tick "Include" for the texts to take along and choose or enter their resource codes. - Choose "Translate". A text that already uses a field, variable, parameter or resource of the report is left out. A resource code entered that does not exist yet is added to the translations of the chosen application language. In release 27.0 "Translate" registers the new resource codes and writes the reports to the target directory, but does not yet replace the texts in them by the resource codes.
